Well honestly, the Hedman headers and y-pipe are absolute garbage. I wouldnt go near a Flowmaster exhaust system. They sound like crap and the mufflers are restrictive.
yea you got a point the only thing is I’m on a budget I’m 16 and don’t make a hole lot during the school year. For an l03 I think the flowmaster will suffice, about the headers what kinds of stuff have you herd about them that makes them garbage? another option is hooker headers they have for about $150 or so I know hooker makes a y-pipe for these headers or I could just talk to my exhaust shop and see how much it would be to have them make me a y-pipe

HED-68470 collector flange = ball & socket
HED-17478 inlets = ball & socket flange
HED-17470 inlets = 3-bolt flange
Both the 17470 & 17478 have a 2-1/2" outlet. That's the "garbage" part. The $150 Hooker headers with their corresponding $200 y-pipe have the same problem.
Hooker 2055's have the headers & y-pipe with a 3" outlet. For $380, you aren't going to get headers and a free-flowing y-pipe installed for any less.

I am trying to sell my ceramic hedman headers and Y pipe for 300 bucks, u can have it for that + shipping, my y pipe has been cut and replaced with a 3" section, like i said the headers are ceramic coated, no more then 4000 miles on them!

With the Hooker 2055 Headers and Y-pipe, will I still need to buy a cat or a pipe to take its place? Or will the Y-pipe take its place so I can bolt up an aftermarket Cat back? Thanks

The y pipe runs up to where the factory cat would be.

Thanks TraviZ, Is there a p/n for the cat that I could use? Is it a straight shot to the cat back? Id rather use a piece of exhaust pipe to meet up w/ the rest of the exhaustOriginally Posted by TraviZ

I'd recommend the Hooker Super Competition Catback exhaust. I thought it flowed well and was loud! Plus it's cheaper than flowmaster. I ran that with the hooker shorty headers and y pipe (on my 305) and was pleased. That's what I'd recommend. The catback also included a pipe to replace the cat. Everything went together nice Originally Posted by cabech984

Id definatly be in the field for a new cat back but a guy by my house has a Flowmaster setup for $100. He supossedly had it on his car for a couple thousand miles but still looks "new". I'll probably pick it up b/c its cheap.

The Catco 9118 is a direct-fit cat for the same '86-'90 TPI single cat as the 2055's. It will slip right onto the 2055 y-pipe outlet, and bolt right up to the existing or any aftermarket cat-back for the same application.Originally Posted by cabech984

Definitly can't beat quality used parts Originally Posted by cabech984
