Need cheap 3" cat-back - Jeg's brand?

So the Hooker 2460's are going on and decided to replace what is probably a generic cat-back already on the car as it's not 3" and will look like crap with a fresh black paint job.

I really want to go lowest cost possible on a quality 3" cat-back, as in the end I want a Spintech muffler on it for that perfect sound anyway. The Hooker cat-back is a pretty proven choice, runs about $279, but there is also a Flowmaster for like $239 and a Jeg's-brand for $229. The other thing is the Hooker comes with smaller tips than I want on it, whereas the Jeg's just has straight pipes out the muffler and you can put whatever tips you want on it.

Jeg's:

Any reason not to get the Jeg's, have the shop drop in the Spintech muffler as well, and put the tips I want on it? After all its just 3" piping with a cheap muffler, which is what I need. Hell I'd prefer to get one without the muffler but can't find that!

That's not a bad idea, but you might also want to check with your local exhaust shop. There are a few around me that can get a set of 3" pipes bent up for our cars for less than the $250ish you'll spend on a cheap catback.

One shop said they won't do it 'cuz of the bend over the axle, but I'll shop around. Thanks

I got the cheap flowmaster. It comes in sections, which are prone to leaking a little bit at the slip joints, but its easy to install. I also like it because its got a standard single exit tucked up behind the bumper rather then the faux duals, which Ive never really liked.
