How much better/louder?

My 80 series flow isn't loed enough any more so I bought a 3''dynomax bullet to go in its place, It will have a turndown just before the rear bumper. Its going to be a a lo3 with stock manifolds 3''hiflo cat and a 3'' I pipe, so how much louder shoud it be?

LMAO thats a wicked funny quote but come on, dont put ALL 17-18 year olds in that category! When I was 17 my Firebird had hedman long tubes, no cat, and the hooker aerochamber. I liked the sound so much, thats what I'm putting on my "new" firebird. My first firebird origionally had a rotted out flowmaster and was stupidly loud, but sounded like ****! not all 17-18 year olds like that ******* sound! haha

To the origional poster: I'd say get a set of headers instead of replacing the muffler. It'll be louder but sound better.

I wasn't ripping on him. From my experience it seems the younger guys want loud, and the older guys want a good tone. I myself drove for a couple weeks with an open y pipe and liked the sound.

My GTA had an 80 series with full exhaust (headers, ypipe, 3" cat, 3" ipipe) and it's not loud enough for me. What you're thinking of doing with the Bullet is what I'm going to do and look forward to it. Right now my car doesn't have a muffler on it and sounds pretty damn sweet. Once the bullet goes on, I think at least, it will sound even better. Loud yes, but thats what I like. Eventually I want to make a system much like the SLP Loudmouth and use the Bullet.

hes not wrong about younger guys wanting louder and older guys liking tone. Im 18 and i deffinately like the tone to be decent but i really love the volume. I want a rediculously loud exhaust that will still have a nice tone to it. Any suggestions?? i was thinking flowmaster 80

I'm just curious why people like LOUD? The majority of people on the road think you're an idiot, the police can hear you a mile away, and it's obnoxious to be in your own car (I prefer to hear my passenger and my music).

lol, dude, I'm 19 and I know that that is just asking for trouble. I agree I like the loud sound too but to have it just to **** with the cops, that is just asking for a "pull over, search your car, check to see if reverse lights work, seat belt check, etc.." you get the idea. I'm sure alot of people know the drill, including me. And even if you don't do anything wrong, you're going to be marked as the a-hole with the camaro and there always goign to be lookin to get with something.
But yah....loud cars do rock!!!

My 80 series wasnt as loud as I expected honestly I was disappointed with the volume. It has a decent tone but the volume just wasn't there if you know what I mean. I am getting the bullet installed on monday or tuesday and I will post up with how I like it.

You're an idiot. Why mess with the cops? I'm sure they can pull you over for reving your engine. Who are you impressing? I'm sorry, but doing something like that is just dumb and shows your immaturity.
Dont give cops more reasons to pull you over than they already have. I was pulled over a few nights ago driving my friends 98 Z28 with just a Borla cat-back (not the adjustable one.... its fairly quiet unless your accelerating, and talk about good tone!) just because I turned around in a parking lot late at night. His reason for pulling me over? There were a lot of break ins in that area over the last few days and he just wanted to make sure I wasn't up to anything. Perfectly good reason for me, but if I didn't have my seatbelt on or if I had a break light out or something, would have been the perfect opportunity for a ticket. Cop told me the exhaust was a little loud but because it wasn't my car and it had a valid sticker, he wasn't going to bother me with it. If I'd rev'd my engine when I drove by him I guarentee you he'd have given me a ticket for SOMETHING.
Being a douchebag to the cops like that, rev'ing your engines just to **** them off, thats screwing yourself over when you accidentally dont notice the cop behind you in traffic and you take off a little fast or forget to use your turn signal. Something like that where the cop normally might just tell you to quit messing around or to be more careful, now he's gonna say to himself "Hey, this is the punk who thinks he's hot **** in his Camaro, I'm gonna screw him over for not having a cat converter and for having windows that are tinted past the legal limit, as well as for improper lane change"
ya know? Quit being a douchebag to the cops, you never know when you might regret it. Plus, it gives young people and people who drive cars like ours a bad reputation.

19 here and tone is just as important as volume. what does it matter that the cops your pissing off is just gunna write you enough tickets so you can't afford the gas to rev. It's the fact a lil gt mustang is gunna sound meaner than you all day long, thats whats funny. No id have to say a rumbly cammed exhaust with a great tight sound is alot better than on old lady farting during the prayer at church

all i can say is AIR delete, cat delete and flowmaster 80 is tone and loud. theres no good reason to mess with cops at all. i draw enough attention to myself just driving normal.

I just got it put on today and I will try to get a clip up this weekend but no promises. So far it is not the attention getter yall said it would be. At idle it is not much louder than the flow but at WOT it screams and roars at the same time. I love this thing.

Personally I like the best of both worlds. An exhaust note that'll induce [fatal] curiousness upon the import geuru and anyone else, yet still maintaining a tone mom would approve of at idle. However, belching out a menacing roar romping on it also appeals to me. I like 'em both. And when I mean I like loud on acceleration, I mean LOUD. My car has got some tone to begin with and I know if I drove like an idiot I'd be pulled over left and right. I just respect others on the road, I don't put anyone else in danger, abide by the law at ALL times......when people are near ofcourse

I'm 17 and know enough through my friends errors (two of my best bud's fatal errors, to be exact..) not to screw around out there. I don't need to be harassed by a cop for doing something dumb.

When in doubt, lay low and enjoy the ride.

Quoted for truth.

Heres how my car sounded.
Very raspy in the mid rpm range!

Preach! I almost died for pulling some stupid stuff in my car. I'm 17 as well, still learning, and a bit wiser after the experience. Got many more important things to do than stunt around and end up regretting it.

But i love a loud exhaust. People at my school can hear my car before they see it, and they love it. Don't get me wrong, tone is important too. My dad's 02 vette has a set of magnaflow mufflers on it and its music to my ears. But he's complaining that it's too quiet and i'm assuming he's jealous when my exhaust sets off car alarms Maybe that's why he's making me change my catback to a Dynomax superturbo set up. Oh well, we all gotta grow up someday
