Ive ran dual super 40's with 3 inch pipes. They were awesome sounding mufflers but since they had such a large case and I had them mounted underneath I had absolutely no ground clearance!

Sorry no sound clip but, am running shorties & 3" y-pipe - pipe all the way out to a single inlet, dual 3" outlet, Flowmaster 40 set up on my IROC. Not as throaty as I was hoping... LT's might have made a difference but, clearance is an issue for me so it's okay.

is it the standard 40 or the Super 40, there is a difference and that might be your "deep" issue...

well, i want it pretty loud too...and every Flowmaster Super 40 i've seen has been LOUD. that or the SLP loudmouth mufflers are about the loudest you can get...you might also wanna check out V-Force...i might even go this route but i dunno, i like the Super 40s...wish someone had a sound clip...just remember performance when you do the exhaust...you are gonna want headers...WELCOME TO THE SITE!!

Want loud? get a flowmaster sgl chamber race muffler. I run one 3-1/2 inch ctr inlet/outlet in the stock location. Its loud.
The system is shorty headers(SLP) with a custom Y-pipe made from a Flowmaster dual 2-1/2->sgl3-1/2 outlet Y-collector that merges into a 3-1/2 "I" pipe that goes up and over the axle to the Muffler in the stock location. No CATS.
