long tube headers over shortys

a friend gave me a set of shorty mac headers for my 1992 trans am, i'm building a high compression 355, should i use the shortys or will i get more power out of throwing some full tubes on it?

long tubes will be better for high rpm usage.. i would get the long tubes.. it will help get more exhaust gas out of the combustion chambers than shorties.. but keep in mind, hooker long tubes cost $600+ w/ ceramic coating.. if you want to go long tube, and have the money.. i say go for it.. get the 1 3/4" ones.. if you are on a budjet, stick with the shorties..

if you plan on keeping the car get them c/c they will last longer and look better plus if you get them done inside and outside it will help keep heat in the exhaust and not under your hood it also increase the velocity when you keep the heat in,heat is energy

Hookers are the only ones for manual trans.. hedmans need modifications to fit.. i dont know about y-pipes though.. most people, not all, with long tubes run true duals..

well i've allready got the flowmaster cat back and i don't have the machines to custom make my own true dual exhaust. i can get a welder but don't i need a pipe bender to custom make a true dual exhaust?

Not all of the Hookers clear the manual transmissions.
