your cat. is plugged up , if you have no emmision checks , gut it . should feel an increase in performance right away . if you have checks , get a high flow replacement cat. . hope this helps . lol .

Speaking of intake manifolds. I have a 1990 Firebird 350 Formula with the 5.7, and I need a intake manifold that is split port...could anyone recommend who may have one?
Thanks!

I'd geuss thats its not plugged your just running way to rich or have a dead miss, if it were plugged the car would stumble on it face off idle but the cat wouldn't glow.

I have seen where a car with a plugged cat would run fine and then once he would step on it it would hesitate and then go so just make sure that the cat isn't plugged before you go and drive it. The way I checked if it was a plugged cat or not is I made a pressure test for the cat. I drilled a hole in the exhaust pipe before the cat and put a valve and stem in the pipe similar to what is in a car tire but different due to the heat and once it was in I checked the back pressure in the cat by hooking a pressure gauge up to it and found that there was too much back pressure changed the cat and solved the problem no more broken manifolds. But yours could be different but do make sure that you don't have a plugged cat before you go and drive it.
