dynomax..use it or not ?
ok after saving my pennies and looking over this site for some time now ive done a few small mods to my 92 305 tbi and im now ready to do a full exaust system from the headers back now im not looking for tons of power im just trying to get the most out of this daily driver without breaking the piggy bank ..ive looked around and found that i can get a full dynomax system (headers ypipe cat & catback ) for little more than the price of some good headers ...is it to good to b true ? or will this system be a solid upgrade untill i get the money to do a little head/cam work (could be awhile
) also this system aswell as many others made for the 92 tbi are 2 1/2 not 3 like suggested in the sticky i read in this msg board ,,is this really gonna hold the 305 back ? ..any thoughts or systems that might be budget friendly will help alot ..thanks guys
by the way my budget is around 650$ any other ideas would help

well i funno how you found a dynomax y pipe for our cars because i couldnt and i have their headers and catback.
second i have the 2.5" i like it bolts right in no complications and has a nice tone to it not too loud and not too quiet. plus dynomax mufflers are suppossed to be one of the top systems to flow the most gas. you really dont need a 3" for your car unless you have big plans for it. but thats just my opinion maybe im just bias.

i never had headers or the y pipe, but I do have the catback and it sounds amazing, the tone is incredible, but its not loud, go for it. but If you have plans for a bigger engine later go with any 3'' catback, i have a 400sbc waiting to go in, and my 2.5 dynomax is going to restrict it for about a year till I can get a new exaust

FWIW, I just ordered some Edelbrock 3" headers with a Dynomax cat, Dynomax I-pipe, and DM axle pipe to use with my FLowmaster 80 and stock turn downs.
Wish me (and Comp88) luck).,

depends which kit either the super turbo or the stainless(expensive) ultra flow which is about the same price as the super turbo cat back for JUST the muffler.

thanks for those who posted ..but i have since struck a deal with a local muffler shop owner who is willing to custom build me a 3inch exaust from my new headmen headers back at cost no labor ..in return ill put 1 of his decals across the rear window for 6months
i think its a great deal my self ....wont cost me more than 50 bucks plus the cost of the muffler

I love my Dynomax catback. It's not stupidly loud and there is no drone inside the car. I also like the sleeper look seeing how it looks just like the stock setup. I've had mine for about 5 years now and get lots of compliments.
And if I were you I would get good quality headers. It's not something to skimp on.
