Question regarding header bolts

I just removed those annoying bolts as I need to replace the header gasket on driver's side, but I wanted to know if I should replace the bolts with the bolts that require the allan key. Have any of you ever used these bolts and if so, did you find it easy to access them and tigthen them?

Thanks,

Benny

You could use bolts with an allen socket head. I like the Stage 8 locking bolts, they have both a hex head and an allen socket.

I'll say this about my Allen head header bolts - I'm sure glad they were hex head, too!!!

I have had every big tube header on the market for a 3rd gen. The 3/8 head bolts work fine. But if you want to be different those should work fine.

Hi Apeiron,

Thanks for the reply. Do you have a pic of this stage 8 locking bolt that you can post?

Thanks again.

I always use either 5/16" or 3/8" header bolts. With those small heads it makes it easy to get a wrench on them.
