Exhaust tips
Anyone care to help suggest some exhaust tips? This looks soo ugly i'm ashamed.
Photoshop's welcome. I've always been more of a wrencher than a waxer, so I'd truely appreciate some feedback from you car show guys.

Re: Exhaust tips
Gee Anesthes, it looks like you put cheapie autozoone mufflers on that Vette!
Some basic chrome slashcut tips should work, and a bargain at $10 each from NAPA.
It must be something in the air, 'cause I am geading home after this post to attempt to fabricate my own tips for the T/A. I haven't found what I want so I'm going to attempt to make some from scratch. I want to duplicate the stock 1984 T/A tips, but in larger diameter, mandrel bent tubing. Sort of a departure from the fat tip craze we've been on these past few years. I want them to be unobtrusive and also turn the sound downwards. Speak softly but carry a big stick sort of thing...

I'll check out those slash cut tips. Thanks for the advice.

Re: Exhaust tips
Eh. It's a C4. The Camaro was essentially a Vette with a metal body and slight bodyline changes. And the Firebird is essentially a Camaro with a different face and butt. And he's only asking about exhaust tips, and what looks good. So it's not technically thirdgen only. If I were a mod, I'd let it slide.

Re: Exhaust tips
Don't start. I've put my time in (well over 10 years, and over 20k) into fbody's.
And those of you who actually know me, know the last few years I got pretty annoyed with the limitations I was facing.
----------
ahaha. But otherwise you know, it's basically the same
The suggestions are not bad. Thank you. I'm stuck with the quad exhaust exits. When I had the firebird's I had the hooker catback with quad tips and it didn't look bad. I was hopping to find 4 decent tips that would give the same appearance. You have to admit, those mufflers in the picture are horrible.

Re: Exhaust tips
I like these, but the single ones. I think you got the y-split right? I saw some chrome ones on summit selling for $38 each but they were discontinued. I wonder if I can get 4 for a bargain. summit won't guarantee availability. They look sweet though. clamp on or bolt on?

I think they might have been part of the SLP Two On The Left setup that we got from a friend when we slapped a Borla on his 82.
here is the 96,

I found the Borlas in individuals,

Re: Exhaust tips
I think it would be pretty cool to see the exhaust routed into the bumper like a 1970 barracuda. Just throwing out an idea.

Re: Exhaust tips
On a certain level of abstraction, all cars are about the same.
But at least the Vettes and the F-body's isn't day and night. I mean, a lot of them had L98's, 700-R4's, and some other misc. switchable parts. At least he isn't asking about exhaust tips for a '57 Ford Fairlane. :P

I hear what you are saying but at this point it sounds like you don't want to give up the moderator bwana.

Some of the hardcore members here don't have fbody's either.
Again, the question was about exhaust tips.

Re: Exhaust tips
I don't mind moderating. I've been here since the beginning, and have had more of these cars apart than most people. Corvette forum is full of retards who don't turn wrenches.

Personally, I think the kind of car you have depends on the exhasut tips you choose. For example, pipe straight out the back of a '91-'92 Firebird with ground effects looks kinda weird. It's for this reason I went with (and will stay with) the stock turn downs:
DON'T get into the mudflaps argument.

Re: Exhaust tips
After going through lots of pictures, seeing a few late C4's, and a bunch of 4th gen Z28's. I decided to go with these.
Thanks guys!

Re: Exhaust tips
cc306 cam sounds sick with long tubes and cats, and stock mufflers.
