Need Backpressure?
I just installed new Dougs 1 3/4" longtubes with a 3" collector with true dual 3" pipes running straight back into dynomax bullets dumped before the rear axle. Before when I had shorties and a true dual 2 1/4" system, it seemed like I had more low end. Is this becuase of less back pressure, or what?

Re: Need Backpressure?
No, it's because of less scavenging at low RPM with the larger pipe.

Re: Need Backpressure?
I have the dynomax bullets, some people are telling me around here that these dont give enough back pressure and some are telling me they are perfect. Which is it?

There's no such thing as "too little backpressure". Backpressure is never a good thing.

backpressure is no good...i think your exhaust is too big to where you lose the velocity..if a pipe is too big the exhaust doesnt help pull more exhaust gases out and that is your problem..if all you have is a 350 you deffinately would not need dual 3" exhaust

I have far from a 350, its bored and stroked to a 396, .539 .548 234/ 238 @050 110LSA roller cam, 11:1 comp, Edelbrock E-tec 200 heads, Edelbrock Perf RPM Air gap, comp 1.5 roller rockers, AED 750 HP HO carb, MSD Digital 6 plus, 150 shot of N2O, etc. Motor is prolly putting out 475 at the flywheel and 625 on spray.

Re: Need Backpressure?
you cant expect much lowend from a big exhaust.. the bigger you go, the less lowend you get.. and from the looks of it, you upsized alot.. 2.25-3.00 is a huge jump.. but its better for your motor.. let that thing breathe

Re: Need Backpressure?
Yea thats what everyone is telling me, overall I am happy with the way it is now, my top end is like night and day. It seems like the nitrous has more of an effect now to with the bigger exhaust. I need to go put it on a dyno now to get some real numbers.
