True duals

I'm going to post some pics of my 2 1/2inch duals. I used the hedman S-extensions, 2 1/2in straight pipe and moroso spiral flow mufflers. Headers are Hedman 1 5/8prim. and 3 in. collector.

Re: True duals

I just installed my headers yesterday and I was wondering what I could get to make it around the tranny cross member. Do you have a part# for the s pipe and does it clear well ??

Re: True duals

The part number is HED-18700 from summit racing. They are the ball and socket type. They do carry other collector styles. The s-pipes come right under the crossmember. From there I ran the straight pipe. Someday I'll use mayber a smaller and shorter s-pipe to tuck it up little more. Right now I've got about 4in of clearance.

Actually what I did was scrap the entire serpentine system. I swapped a big block into my 79 GMC and just used all the accessories off of the old small block. And everything fit pretty well. My biggest problem was getting the damn alternator bracket to work with the vortec intake. After trying three different kinds I finally made my own.

Just use threaded rod for that header hole and run 3 nuts. One nut against the header, one right before the bracket and one right after the bracket to tighten it against the first nut. Works great on all the serp. cars that I've put headers on for people.

Thats the thing I tried to find a new bracket from hedman or hooker but nobody makes a cheap one. Everything is like $80-$120.

Re: True duals

Um.. You could say "Very Noticable". Not as loud as the glasspaks on my truck, but much louder than my single aerochamber.
