My SLP Tri-Y Headers

I have a complete set of the SLP Tri-Y headers, y-pipe and bolts for my car.

My question is, how do these headers compare to other types of headers, like Hooker shorties? I know that the tube diameter is 1 5/8", but the way that the tubes are arranged makes this less of an issue.

The cars that these came on had good power, but my engine build should produce upwards of 400 hp. I wonder if they'll be a major restriction....

Any input is welcome!

Re: My SLP Tri-Y Headers

I have also tri-y's at my Camaro.Fitment is nice, you can lift engine to enginebay when headers are already installed.Only bad thing is that driverside "y-pipe" is littlebit too low,ie makes easily groundcontacts.Sparkplug number eight is only little harder to change.I use eq vortec heads and rs12yc champion plugs+msd 8.5 wires with 90 degree ends.No clearance problems,or temperature problems(coated headers&"y-pipe")

Re: My SLP Tri-Y Headers

Wow...havent seen those in a while. I think there used to be a few manufacturers of the tri-y styles. Gale Banks used to have a set too for the f-body. I got the newer shorty 30005C SLPs. I love em. Best headers I ever had on it yet. The tri-y style is a great torque / horsepower comprimise design

I wish they still made them. Best mid RPM range header out there. Great for TPI setups.

Tri-Y's get no loving it seems.
