flowtech headers?

hey guys, its about time for me to change out my y-pipe due to rust...but i want to put headers on and i'm looking at a set of flowtech headers http://www.carpartswholesale.com/cpw...y=1&make_code=
and its 315 for ceramic coated headers...they dont have a y-pipe but it cant be that much....what do you guys think? ive never quite heard of flowtech, but it sure beats 528 for edlebrock

Re: flowtech headers?

flowtech headers are better than stock, but if you plan on doing future mods (heads, cam or anything big like that), go with 1 5/8 headers..

Re: flowtech headers?

i have the other set, not the 1116's
If i could go back i would get the 116's because the have a matching y-pipe. But other wise they are ok for the money. I'm content with them.

Re: flowtech headers?

Flowtechs are one step above stock manifolds, and Edelbrocks are one step above those. A set of good coated headers (SLP, Hooker, Hedman), y-pipe, and install will set you back about $800. Change your catalytic converter, i-pipe and muffler first if you havent yet. Then do the headers. Everything at once should be $1100.

Re: flowtech headers?

my muffler is new (flowmaster 80 series), my i pipe is new, and i usually dont run a cat cuz i got an electronic cut out, but i have inspection in a month so i was thinking i'd get the headers and the y-pipe (cuz mines rotted) and i thought it would be dumb to get a stock y-pipe and then just change it out in a month or so...
