headers, cutouts and cats...
I have an 89 IROC with a 305 TBI:
First: Will longtube Pacesetter headers fit a 305 TBI?
What is the loudest header that will fit a 305 TBI?
Second: What is a great brand of cutouts?
What sizes am I looking for?
Can I place a cutout just behind the header (i.e. at the end of the header, connected to the collector), or should I just put a single on at the end of the y-pipe?
Third: What is the best performing hi-flow cat around, or should I just cut it off since my IROC is not emissions tested?

Re: headers, cutouts and cats...
All V8's in thirdgens are the same, so any header made for a V8 thirdgen will fit. However, long tubes will require a custom y-pipe as a thirdgen undercarriage is not designed for long tubes.
Most cutouts are just a piece of pipe with a cover on it. I dont see that as hard to screw up, so they should all be very similar. You can install one where ever you want.
I recommend Magnaflow cats. Federal law requires you to have them installed.
