i have a 5.0 tpi in my 87 trans am along with a dump valve and a cool air induction kit i built myself, i just bought a set of headers, now my question is do you guys think i'll get more power from the dump valve open or closed? i thought that even without headers i'd get more power but it actually seems to have back fired on me lol (not literally but metaphorically)...any ideas?

I'm assuming a dump valve is a cutout? You might pick up a few tenths, hundredths with a cutout...that's all. It's more the open headers feeling I think then anything. Isn't it?

 

well i havent put the headers in yet...but i have the stock manifolds in with the valve and yes, the dump valve is an electronic cutout, im i'm just used to calling it a dump valve cuz of my brothers wheeling friends
