to big to post here i need your e-mail to send you pics
dude mw66nova,that sounds pretty mean!
Anyway to the original poster, your car sounds pretty aggressive so i'd recommend a set of hooker longtubes then lead that into a mufflex 3.5" system with their y pipe for hooker long tubes. Mufflex is loud and aggressive, but not louder than those sidepipes.
loud mufflers include short chambered tubes, bullets, and straight thru single chamber boxes like flowmaster race mufflers, spintech outlaw/race series, etc.
any of those mufflers on a good 3 to 3.5 inch single system would be awesome

I have a Hooker aerochamber catback with a MAC off-road pipe on my RS. it makes my 305 sound unbelievable.
I have the same catback on my GTA, but without the off-road pipe and it doesn't sound nearly as good as my RS.

right now shift points are around 6000-6200. i'm looking at a cam that would allow power up to 7000 though. not sure if i want to use it in this, or just build a bigger motor.

maybe its just the camera then, it sounds like its 9K lol
How much clearance do you have? I plan on lowering my car 1.5" but love your setup and looks like something I could do myself by welding manderal bends together (witch looks like you did)

just depends on how much you want to spend i guess. i had a shop do my true duals, and since they were doing it i went and let them install the headers which would of saved me a lot of money but wouldnt be practical bc the only place i was able to find that would except the job was in ohio near my college. so there for i didnt want to get ticket (tickets) from indiana all the way to ohio from the noise. around a grand after everything. i could definately notice the difference just on my stock 350 in performance. true duals with cutouts also installed, cant get much meaner than that unless you have more of a stout engine like you said
P.S. if you like the crackle in the exhaust, i wouldnt go with true duals, my exhaust has like no restriction at all now, i can rev it up to 4 grand and not one crackle. Keep the "y" pipe if you like the crackling.

i think i spun the motor to 7200 in that vid. it's got really nice valvetrain components so spinning it that hard occasionally won't hurt it.Originally Posted by wannafbody

i want to say i have 3.5"-4" of clearance, but i'm also like 2" lower than stock.
yep, alls i did was cut and weld some mandrel bends.

k guys im new at this ... would me welding up a custom 3" y pipe be better (as in preformance and sound) then me running tru duals all the way out the back?
it's truly personal preference, but there is some theories that support the scavanging effects of a well built y-pipe like mine.

Well, I'm kinda partial to the sound of Borla but that's probably because I'm running the same system on both my third and fourth gen Fbodies.
Here's a clip of when I first installed it on my Iroc. I didn't go too crazy revving the motor in the video since the neighbors were sitting outside 10 feet away ( they don't like noisy cars
) but it should give you a pretty good idea of what it sounds like. I'll have to put together another video with some fly-by's and WOT runs to give you a better idea of how the system sounds...
It's pricey, but if you like the sound, it's your only option since no other system sounds quite like.

LT1 fun, you should take some clips of a part throttle fly bys and WOT fly bys. I would love to hear them.
i can honestly say i don't like the sound of that catback. but i guess that's why there are so many different ones in the aftermarket. i want to get a magnaflow for my dad's daily (89 lb9 iroc with full boltons)
