Magnaflow cat back users
Which Magnaflow cat-back are you using?
LT1, LS1 ect? Part number would be great. Only minor mods are needed to fir a 3rd gen, right?
thanks

Re: Maganlow cat back users
I have the Texas Speed & Performance LS1 Rumbler . It was on when I bought the car, so I don't know many details on the fit, but it looks good. It was built for a LS1 car, and modified to fit my GTA.
Everybody seems to like it, but it's too quiet to me. My revs ranged from 2-3k.

Re: Maganlow cat back users
$380 for a muffler w/pipes bent & installed vs a pre-built, mandrel bent $225 kit? Did mandrel bend the pipes?
I don't think shipping woulda cost ya the difference.

Re: Magnaflow cat back users
I didn't want to deal with any type of modifications with the LT1 or LS1 setup so I chose to buy a pieced together magnaflow system off of Summit.
I bought the 2 dynomax 3" intermediate pipes, followed by the Magnaflow muffler meant for an LT1 car, and dynomax turndown tailpipes. I also purchased a 3" magnaflow hi flow cat.
My car still has the [puny] stock manifolds so its not really that loud. Its definitely much deeper and more refined but the system is pretty tame overall.

btw I dont know how to weld, overwise I wouldve done it myself

I went to the exhaust shop and asked them if they carried Magnaflow products. I ordered through them. Pretty sure if you look up on summitracing.com, itll show u the polished one, but just take those dimensions and look up those for an unpolished one for 75-90 bones.

Re: Magnaflow cat back users
dynomax tail pipe- $40 x2
Dynomax intermediate pipes-$110+$65
Magnaflow muffler- $90
If I would've gone to summit, it would've been $345 plus shipping and hangers and blah blah blah.
----------
Hey I looked up what I think might be the part number you are looking for
MPE-12288
try that

Re: Magnaflow cat back users
I bought a full Magnaflow cat back from a shop and everything costs about 500 out the door. thats with the stainless muff and chrome tips and hangers etc. they have to fab it all up cuz i emailed magnaflow and they told me they dont carry a kit for our 3rd gen applications. pricey? yea but cali is freaking expensive. go to the magnaflow site and type in your zip code and they will tell you the nearest authorized magnaflow dealer.

Re: Magnaflow cat back users
Use the LT1 kit, it comes with an S bend to redirect it to the cat converter, its a slip fit, simply dont use that and order SLP's 3" single cat "adapter" its about a 45* bend, add your choice of flange and its done.
