Dude, you can build the same or better system for less money. Getting a catback isn't a bad idea but to me why waste the money on a "name" brand when you could get the same tubing and tips from a local place and buy a muffler separate. That's what I did and oh man does it sound mean.

Hooker Headers
Custom 3" Y-Pipe
3" Dynatech Cat
3" I-pipe
Bullet style muffler in my I-Pipe
Dumps over axle

Freakin' loud

Yeah, but I'm going to do away with the cat and none of the shops around me will touch the car once it's gone....

Why you getting rid of the cat? A free flowing 3" cat is fine. If you saw my cat, you'd **** yourself. It's half the size of a standard car and it's all steel inside rather then the ceramic most come with. Has a decent price tag on it though.

If shops are that worried, just run 2 clamps on either end of the cat (or punchec cat) and once your out of the shop, remove it yourself and put a ORP in there.

Re: Thinking of running this exhaust, anyone else got it??

thats the plan..... and the reason I'm not going to run a cat is because the free-flowing cats are a good $200+ plus the motor does not require emisions (Built 355 SBC 600+hp) so it's pointless, I'm just going to run a 3" full exhaust to the mufflers. I have figured out how i'm going to do it, so this thread is pointless I guess, I was just bored and wondered if anyone had ran that set-up?

a shop cannot complain if you bring it in with no cat it can leave with no cat...bring it in WITH a cat goes out WITH a cat no questions asked...just bring it in without it or bring it in on a trailer and say its a racecar lol and they will do it

The big thing about that exhaust is that it's stainless steel. You're gonna pay for SS no matter what.

Is it worth it to ya? You can get other SS systems that are cheaper... I think? I'm in the south so I don't worry too much about rusting.

Should you ever be interested in a high-flow cat, I'd suggest you take another look at pricing. My Catco was, IIRC, $130 or so. Combined with the rest of my system, i have zero complaints.

If a shop balks at no cat, even on a trailered car, offer cash, no receipt.

Mine was a 3" stainless Magnaflow ( Carsound ) for $50, it's the weld /clamp in , not the factory one with the bolt flange though.
