Re: Hooker Aerochamber

they also make one without the flanged inlet if you are not using their catback.

Re: Hooker Aerochamber

It looks like the 3" only comes with the flanged inlet. The smaller diameter inlets are not flanged.

Re: Hooker Aerochamber

Like I said I did search em but all I ever found was the one that had them on one side.....but thank you.

If I get this with the flange would a muffler shop be able to install it without having to get the cat-back???

Just so you know that is a very quiet muffler. I had one on my '98 and did'nt think it sounded much better than stock.

Re: Hooker Aerochamber

Whatever, Im just telling you my personal experience with them. I had Hooker shorty headers, a Random Technology Y-pipe and a Hooker Aerochamber cat-back. You could'nt pay me to put another one on another car. Im not knocking the car in the clip, its very nice but I never listened to mine in a garage from 2ft. away or while in a parking lot with the sound bouncing off a building either, lol. If that's the sound your looking for, more power to ya', like I said, its just my personal experience, but that was with an LS1, whether that would make any difference I dont know. Ive heard Flowmasters on third gens. that I think sound much better.

My brother ran one on a 350 in a thirdgen. It was a smog headed engine, didnt make a ton of power, but ran ok. It sounded good. He was running hedmans and a hooker catback and aerochamber. It sounded pretty stout really. Better than a flowmaster. I have a off brand i think its a volt on my 87 (well, not mine now, i sold it to my dad) its a little lopey and built, but it sounds very aggressive. In fact part of the deal is that exhaust comes off, its going to go on my 88 lo3 camaro. Hopefully it sounds somewhat remotely close, just without the lope and whatnot.

Re: Hooker Aerochamber

I have the hooker cat-back on my car. The exhaust was really quiet with the cat on the car. You almost couldn't tell the car was running. The car sounds great now that there is a 2.5 inch pipe in place of the cat.

Re: Hooker Aerochamber

Yes I just had an aero-chamber put on the bird with a couple 3.5 tips and it really is only slightly louder than stock. I do plan on pulling cat out. Sure it'll sound just right then.

Re: Hooker Aerochamber

When I was trying to choose a muffler, I was trying to decide between Hooker Aerochamber and Magnaflow.....Since Hooker makes a catback I decided to be different and get a Magnaflow....I love both sounds for different reasons.
