Re: new headers needs new wires
Im kinda interested to see the answer too - I believe someone recommended getting a set for a truck, or different vehicle, but I forget what.
As for the Accel wires, I believe you have to assemble those yourself. I think the kit comes with the wire and the boots, and you have to do the work of cutting / stripping to the exact length you want, and then crimp the boots on with special pliers.
Personally, I would look into Taylor or MSD or another brand.

Re: new headers needs new wires
I've heard some bad stuff about accell wires.
I've got MSD cut-to fit with 90* boots on my bird but that's because that's all my store had in stock and I needed to get to work the next day. I'd go Taylor wires. Incidentally, from what I've heard summit brand wires are the same as the standard Taylor wires, just no Taylor boots.

Re: new headers needs new wires
lots of problems with accel that i have heard. i've always ran msd and no problems. when i put headers on, i run part number 31249 from msd. they are meant to be run underneath the header tubes.

Re: new headers needs new wires
I run the MSD 90* boot wires on mine. Can't remember what application, but IIRC they are a truck application that had the 90s...

Re: new headers needs new wires
well the only experience that i had with the accel 8.8 was that they were way to long when it came to a kit specific for my vehicle. im running the unassembled wires from msd to help with the issue of running headers and making sure them are out of the way

i just picked up a set of taylors, thanks for the advice guys
Re: new headers needs new wires
I've used accel performance wires on lots of cars. THe only problem I ever had were wires that were just a little too long. Every time. You have to be creative in your routing, thats for sure. The quality, meaning longevity and function was always superb especially considering the lower price.
Re: new headers needs new wires
Use wires from a 90 Chevy 1500 truck
Ask for the premium ones and you will get 8mm wires
One wire on the drivers side is about 2" too long but it can be tucked out of the way
There is enough length for rack style wire dividers
Alot cheaper than that cut to fit set and chances are you wont need that big of a set of wires

Re: new headers needs new wires
I seem to be a minority here in that I like the cut-to-fit sets so I can taylor how long each wire is and route them how I like.
Re: new headers needs new wires
Nothing wrong with that and sometimes its the only option
Alot of people want the Off-the-shelf type of part and other like me prefer the $30 for nice wires vs the normal $50-80 per set of cut-to-fit wires

TorqueTilla, you may want to try the Accel shorty spark plugs. They help keep the plug wire boots from being burnt on the headers. Also carried by Summit and many auto parts stores.
