I need some help I just got another Camaro its an 88 RS V8 with a 5 speed.

Its been awhile since ive gotten under a fbody, my last camaro was automatic, and that was about 2yrs ago.

Neways all i know is someone put a 3ft. tube onto the y pipe and called it a day. Nothing else and it sounds like crap.

My plans are to get a set of summit long tubes. I want to run tru duals because i already have 2 40 series mufflers.
I have a pipe bender at my shop, and welder at my disposal. But how do i need to go about this, has it been done, can it be done.
Are there anythings i should look out for when doing it?

Any info on tru duals on a 5 speed would be great.
Pictures of a set up would be the best.

summit doesnt have house brand LT headers.

 

my bad, wcich ever are those cheap lt's through summit

 

the uncoated headman long tubes are about 150bux, cheap as LT's go, the only problem, they dont clear the slave cylinder for the clutch, they have to be modified.

 

get some shortys, or long tubes from hawks 3rd gen
