Anyone have painfree use of Heddman headers on their 3rd gen?
Anyone have painfree use of Heddman headers on their 3rd gen?
I'm running Edelbrock TES headers to single Yipe. It was put to good use but I no longer run emissions and the threads on collectors are rotting. Anyone have information on Heddman shorty headers with no AIR tubes?

i run heddman elites on my 350, there HTC coated, with no O2 or emissions. Their a bit $$ IMO but they work great

In all honesty do you think the coating is worth it in the long run? Did you notice a huge decrease in underhood temperature?

It's not about the decrease in underhood temp, they put ceramic coatings on to keep the headers from rusting. Also show guys like them because they look good. You can put painted headers on your car but if it is a DD they will rust within two years. Ceramic coating will fade a bit but it won't rust.

Well i didnt want the coating for show, i just wanted the coating to extend the life of my header lol. but either way, you can buy reg. headers and send them out to be coated like jet hot or w/e if you decide you want to coat them. Just dont use them to break in an engine.

For the price of the coating, I could replace the headers 3 times & they will easily last 5+ years (around here, no road salt)......So I don't see the cost benefits.
For the 5 yr matter.....I have yet to see a set of uncoated headers (around here) rust so badly, that they HAVE to be replaced entirely.
So to me...Coating is for show cars.

Understandable, i just got them because were i live, parts rust overnight lol. If i showed you pics of my old headers you would think they were from an auto horror film.

Get the coated ones if you can. With my SLP headers I had them jet hot coated and the underhood temps difference from the stock manifolds is huge! Well worth the money IMO.
