How much more power?

About how much more power would I gain by getting the 3 inch flowmaster cat-back with the 80 series over just putting an 80 series on my car? I was just wondering if the power difference of the entire cat back would be worth the price or not.

The ear/butt dyno would indicate an increase, but a chassis dyno wouldn't.

Re: How much more power?

So I guess just throwing a muffler on would be a better idea then.

Re: How much more power?

If you are planning on making changes in the future that could benefit from the larger exhaust it is worth doing the cat back. Flowmaster makes a quality, good fitting product. I recommend it as a replacement for the factory exhaust as it is rare to see a muffler shop exhaust system that fits as well. It is just as rare to see a muffler shop exhaust system that has any chance of flowing what stock system is capable of. I don't care for the polished stainless driveway dragging tips however and tend to replace them with turn downs.

Re: How much more power?

I was thinking about future mods also. All that I have done so far is a mild cam (260/260 .444/.444), a set of Hooker 2460's, motor is bored .030 over, and a hypertech chip. Im still looking to get more power out of the car and that was why I was wondering about the entire cat-back, but I just wasn't sure how much it would help with the mods that I have so far.
