exhaust ports
Kind of a stupid question but Im trying to figure out which header install to order and I cant decide if the exhaust ports on my 062 Vortec heads are round or oval. Help please

Which headers are you looking at?
SBC exhaust ports are round. Some of the newer aftermarket heads are D-shaped and raised .100" higher than stock.

Just about any SBC headers will bolt up, but the Vortec plug placement prevents you from changing about half of your spark plugs unless the headers are designed for them, otherwise you have to remove your headers to change your spark plugs. Dyno Don is the only one I know of that makes headers for the Vortech plug locations.
