Decent headers for tpi

Like the title says, just wondering what headers ya'll are running. Looking to put a set of longtubes on an 89 iroc-z (o2 sensor of course) without emmisions.

Maybe its me but for some reason I cant find any with a threaded o2 port.

i have hooker comp's on mine, they have a threaded port, but you have to punch or drill out the header wall to get the o2 sensor in. they are nice ceramic coated pieces, and ran about $275.

you can also get whatever headers you want and then buy a bung at an auto store and weld it on, or have a shop do it for pretty cheap (like "what do you have in your pocket" cheap) either way works.

remember to go with a 3 wire heated o2 sensor, they work better, are more efficient and you can install them further down line if you see fit.

thanks for the reply man. Thats exactly what my problem was... I found a lot of headers for 82-92 camaros but saw none with an 02 port. So your headers came with a port but you just had to punch out the metal cover? What part number where they, and is there any clearance issues with where the port was located by the manufacture? (as far as your 02 location on the car)

I would much rather buy a set that has and 02 port rather than weld one in. I was looking at the hedman 68460 and maybe I'm wrong but I dont see an 02 port on these either??? Never had this problem with my ls1...they all had 02 ports and made it very clear where they were.

Long tube headers are not emissions-legal for the street, so they're made for off-road applications with carburetors, not EFI.

Look at my "What's the best exhaust? What are the best headers?" thread at the top of the exhaust forum.

Dyno Don 1 3/4" and Hooker 2055 1 5/8" are the most popular shorty headers with O2 sensor ports.

Long tube headers require more work and a custom y-pipe, so they're a pain in the butt compared to shorties.

Like I said, never had this problem with the ls1. There ARE emission legal longtube headers.......maybe not for 3rd gens

Besides emissions are not a concern of mine as I live in a state that has no inspections

If I wanted to run shorties I would stay with the stock manifolds....I'm in the market for longtubes, If I'm gona run headers, I'll make it worth my time and money to run longtubes.

So what other longtubes come with an 02 port? I still don't know if the hedman's do.

If your going to spend that kind of money on the headers,having an O2 bung welded in should not be an issue for you.I dont understand what the big deal is.Get the before mentioned hooker headers or weld one in.You could call summit and see if they know which headers have one and which ones dont.
