Is the Delco o2 i just purchased really a delco? anyway to tell?
so i just purchased and installed a 3 wire heated o2 sensor.
i bough it from rock auto.
it came in an ac-delco box. but is their any actual way to verify that it is a delco part.
it said made in japan on it and has 2 black and 1 purple or blue colored wire.
it had a 3 diget number on it aswell i can remember the number now.
seems to be working goood i would just like to see if i did get a delco part.
thanks. any info will help!

Same boat at here too.I think it's denso sensor. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tpi/...tml?highlight=
I asked this from Rockauto when I noticed that sensor is made in japan.i got this answer:
Dear Jari xxxxxx
Thank you for your reply. This sensor should be the AC Delco part.
Thank you,
Karl

The one I picked up at the local dealer a couple of months ago was just as you described. So much for "Genuine GM Parts".

Delphi/AC Delco has outsourced many of their products in the last few years since they have gotten into financial problems. The battery division was sold off to Johnson Controls and spark plugs are now made by Honeywell Corp./Autolite. The replacement AC Delco O2 sensor I got for my '84 T/A looks an awful lot like a Bosch unit.
"Genuine GM Parts" is unfortunately not always "Genuine GM Parts" anymore.

Honestly, the best 3-wire heated O2 sensor on the market in my opinion is made by Walker Products.
the ports are much larger thus, allowing more gases to flow thru getting a better reading. I have used Bosch (junk) and ACDelco (a little better than junk, lol). Once I came across Walker Products O2 sensor I will never go back.
Several guys that I know who are pros at tuning and burning chips have now switched to Walker Products. I can get them and ship them to anywhere in the U.S. for $55. That's the best deal I can find anywhere for the BEST product out there.
Walker manufacturers the sensors. Very high quality product and the specs are incredible.

Not really referring to NGK's plugs. Yes, they are excellent plugs. I am referring to sensors. ACDelco O2 sensors used to be excellent along with their coolant temp sensors, IAC valves, TPS etc. I have had more problems the past 2-3 years with those than any other product unfortunately!! I have heard this from numerous others as well.

I guess I'll trade them in on their 1 year warranty and get NGK copper plugs. Though, I have read they run a little hot.
