header gasket woes

I tried to fix my headers today, new gaskets because it sounds like an old beat up truck when im driving, (chug chug chug chug chug)... now for some reason, its bogging down and decided to die when i put it into reverse... i did break a wire but thats in a different thread, (wire between 1st and 2nd spark plug on driver side)

did i mess something up? when its idling it sounds great, no issues there, when driving its kinda boggy, really really sounds like an old beater (probably a different exhaust leak now), the bogging is a real issue, it wasnt doing it before, now im scared to run to walmart.... please help!

Did you by any chance remove any of the plug wires to change the gaskets? If you did make sure you didn't mix any up, probably 5 and 7 if it still idles smooth.

Re: header gasket woes

if your exhaust still leaks... get a dead soft aluminum header gasket... they will seal almost anything. jegs/summit sells them. also the single wire sensors on the drivers side up front is the engine temp sensor. im pretty sure its just for the gauge since thats the one i replaced for my stewart warner gauge, shouldnt affect driving. i second the spark plug wire swap!
