CC is awesome. With Jet-Hot (They coat the insides as well), which by what they state fills in any imperfections inside the headers and such (small pores, scratches of some sort, dings) and helps the flow of the exhaust.

Re: ceramic coating
I noticed that using a heat gun that underhood temps where way down....the headers themselver ran 150 deg. or more at times cooler....I was impressed so when I put my new exhaust on, I had the whole thing, headers to exhaust tip, ceramic coated...plus it looks good.

Re: ceramic coating
it's been a rumor that keeping the heat in the exhaust helps it flow better...i dunno if that's true or not.

Hmm, sounds so familiar, anyway I will be doing that also, but down the road when I can spend about $1k on coated exhaust.

Re: ceramic coating
It is in fact true. On my old snocross sled (i dont race) there is a timing dial used for heating the pipe up, which in turn helps you pull outa the line better (more HP). In the world of snowmobiles pipe temp is really important. Most everyone ceramic coats their pipes. IDK the physics but keeping hot exhaust in the pipe/headers DOES help performance.
Re: ceramic coating
ok well i saw decent 2.5 inch outlet ceramic headrers on jegs for 700 a pair. Those ones don't have ceramic on the inside as lsited earlier right? probly not for that price. Will ceramicing (haha) the whole exhaust past headers have minor perfo gains? i would guess most of the performance gained will only come from ceramicing the headers

Re: ceramic coating
if you are near los angeles you can get ceramic coating for 125.00 - just the outside. its called applied engineers in vernon california, just a few miles east of LA. jethot does good work but there price is way to high for me, especially when you have to add an extra 100.00 or so for shipping.
323-585-2894 is there number.

So I'd say off hand they probably aren't coated on the inside.
P.S Jet-Hot has a facility in PA, I live in OH, so shipping isn't much for me at all. I think I was quoted $40 for shipping back to me, but for me to ship to them...$15 from my company. The headers and y-pipe are where the expenses came into factor.

Re: ceramic coating
well i just remember somebody saying something about ceramicing the whole system. is the ceramic that comes on the headers like hooker headers that come in ceramic is that just as good as the stuff the jet hot uses?

Re: ceramic coating
i dont know how far away you are from jet hot but i remember hearing that they SOLD coated headers, including the hooker 2055 - which appears to be the shorties of choice on this board.
but if you want a good price you have to hit the boards 2 or 3 times a day and google, google google. i got mine for - 150 or was it 175 and they had never been on a car, and still had the original shrink wrap on the gaskets, etc. and they came with a y pipe too. still had the black shipping paint on them. then i paid the 125 for coating. half the fun is finding good deals.
but other than price i have NEVER heard a bad word about jet hot and their product. they do a good professional job.
you might want to look around your neck of the woods for ceramic coaters. as long as the outside is done right and the heat is kept down you might find that good enough.
ebay will get deals at time but you might want to cruise the regional 3rd gen sites, or car club sites for deals on the headers you want to buy.

Re: ceramic coating
Yeah, I don't think coating the whole exhaust will give performance gains but I feel it would help emissions as the heat stays inside the pipes and a hotter exhaust burns more of the fuel that may have been unburned.
Also, under your car and engine bay will be cool cool cool, and so will you, as we all know these cars get hot and so do the interiors.
Selling my 300zx this Sunday, the time has come to get the camaro out of the garage....OH WAIT, Nope, Ohio will have snow once again in April next tuesday....WTF!!!
Take care

Re: ceramic coating
I believe Jet-Hot is the only company that coats the inside, but then again I am not out there searching who has the best coatings or does what with them.
So I'd say off hand they probably aren't coated on the inside.

There are quite a few people out there besides jet hot who do it.
Hers a few pic's of stuff Ive ceramic coated.
http://www.cecoatings.com/images/coa...ramicCoatings/
Advantages:
decrease the amount of heat that is absorbed into a part. more head is retained within the exhaust system, providing accelerated exhaust gas velocity.
significant reduction in radiated heat. think under hood temps
wont hold potentially damaging heat & moisture around the part. (ie header wrap)
looks good
Cons: Non really. Makes your wallet a little lighter.
