The debated question.
Oh yeah first post time. Glad I found this site. So what I have is a 400 small block that is fairly built. Now if my motor was stock I would just go with a 3 in single pipe down my car. My question is should I just buckle up and pay the price for a dual set up? Or is the power diffrence from the single to dual barely noticable. But one would think dual means more flow which means more power. The main reason im asking is because my uncle dyno'd a 3 in single vs a dual(not sure on the size) and he said the single provided the same results but that could of been on just a stock set up. I didnt ask on the engine size ect.. but i figured the pros on this site have been there done that. Im running headmen long tubes if that makes the decision any diffrent.

Re: The debated question.
im no expert but most people say go with a single pipe. same power gains, different sound. you get more ground clearance with a single pipe if thats a concern

my buddy puts down 620hp to the ground in his camaro through a 3inch single exhaust. Most people go overboard on ther exhaust, single will do just fine...

What does he run to put that much down to the ground? Ground clearance is def an issue and if you guys are saying single is just as much power might as well go with that cause its way cheaper.

Re: The debated question.
for now i have everything for a single up and over the rear end and i just cant see a reason for spliting it and causing back pressure at the location of the split. it seems a bit of waste.
and if you go for the single pipe what do you use for the tail section - is it invisible - like the stock fake 90 duals, or do you just run the pipe out the back?
i forgot to add that the muffler is actually a 3 inch internal - 31 inch long chambered exhaust and im using that as the mid pipe so there is no muffler mounted that can be seen.
