The quality of Dyno Don's exhaust work.....

is freaking spectacular!!!! I had to switch over from long tubes to a shorty configuration because of my transmission swap and can't believe the quality and fitment of these pieces, it's amazing. The headers are 1 3/4 primaries with 2 1/2 inch collectors and have some kind of nickel/chrome finish to them and they look great. They also utilize ball flanges for all the connections, so no need for gaskets and pesky exhaust gas leaks associated with them. Spark plug and spark plug boot clearance is awesome, and I am using AFR heads. The y pipe appears to be made out of stainless steel and the welds are perfect. The routing is precise, fitting right between the k member and the oil pan with no hitting or rubbing. The y pipe is 2- 2-1/2 in tubes merging into a 3 inch Y following the factoy routing. Even if all the stars and the planets in the heavens were perfectly aligned, they wouldn't line up better than this exhaust system. All I have to say is that if you are looking for a quality exhaust sytem, want a factory style fitment and routing, increased exhaust flow, no ground clearance loss, and ease of installation, then you need to get a hold of Dyno Don and he will hook you up! Well, what are you waiting for, open up your PM box and shoot him a mesasage!

Re: The quality of Dyno Don's exhaust work.....

Yep, Don is building me up a special set of headers so that I can use my exhaust termination boxes. The spark plug clearance is about the best I have seen for my AFR 195 heads. The header bolts go in easily to. The best thing is the horsepower potential. With my new motor I expect to exceed 500 flywheel horsepower and without long tube headers.

I had thought about ditching my LT's for a set.

Let us know how it works out. Sure would be nice to see what difference it makes on a dyno.

I got a set 5-6 months back, and was extremely happy with them! i had one small leak issue at the ball flange but its taken care of now, and has been great ever since! Very worth the money.

Re: The quality of Dyno Don's exhaust work.....

I've been trying to figure a way to get them up here to Canada. But I guess the fellow I was in contact with is not interested in selling and sending a set up to Canada.

Guess I'll have to shop for another brand and research here on the boards the next best set of headers for my engine swap over the winter......

As company who ships in the US and Canada, shipping outside the continuous-48 can be quite the hassle and labor-intensive. I know a lot of smaller companies find it too complicated of a process to be able to do it regularly. If you are looking for a way to get parts shipped up to you, let me know, I may just have some help for you.

Other than the higher cost of shipping, I never found it to be a problem shipping my STS tail light controllers, other than higher cost (vs 48 state shipping, which shipping cost varied on distance anyways) and an extra piece of paper to fill out.

90% of the population of Canada is within something like 300km's of the U.S. border, so I am not sure why shipping to Canada is so much more expensive than shipping within the 48 states.

You are very correct on that one. The problem is that imaginary line in the sand that was drawn. That line results in 3-5 times the required paperwork, not to mention the fees and duties and customs and fun times associated.

Another reason why a lot of our Canadian customers close to the border have their packages shipped state-side; lower (free) shipping, better tracking numbers, and quicker turn around time. I can get parts to New York in 1-2 days; once you go over the border it mysteriously takes 2-3 weeks.....

Yep, the primaries are 1 3/4 in. The gasket flanges are a staggering 3/8 in thick and really reduces the possibility of warping and creating a header gasket leak. The collectors are 2 1/2 in utilizing ball flanges. The y pipe is also 2 1/2 in and merges into 3 in with a y pipe section(not pictured above).

Re: The quality of Dyno Don's exhaust work.....

I have been hesitant to show the special set of headers Don has built for me. They are a one off deal and you cannot buy them because they are made specifically for my car. They need the air pipes installed and ceramic coated but they are pretty much done otherwise. The collector pipe on the passenger side will have to be final fitted with the new motor install.

One more picture. You can see the quality of Don's work. By the way I don't think he is going to do anymore of these. The time and cost is to much.

I'm in the process of building a sbc 6.0 liter motor. I will be using exhaust termination boxes so that is why the special configuration of the headers. I also have to use a tubular K-member for these to fit and a special oil pan. I have not totaled up the cost because I do not want to know.

I wonder if the headers could be made, with the AIR tubes n the bottom of here they are?

If the Inspector glances & says"No tubes, you fail." Look again!

Seems like it wouldn't create a spark plug or plug wire clearance problem. What about it Don? Possible?

Looks like I am getting a set with the Y pipe. From the looks of these pictures it will be worth the wait. Got in touch with one of the distrubuters and found out how to order it and sent the order off last night.

So...You are saying that your headers have been CARB/EO tested & certified, to be fully legal headers? I've never noiced the CARB/EO plate on yours, in the pics I've seen of them.

If not, your headers are no more emissions legal, than a http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HED-69520/ that someone added AIR tubes to, at home.
