removing stuck exhaust
I'm trying to remove the muffler to get at the fuel pump. Muffler is stuck pretty good. Tried using propane to heat it up but propane doesn't burn hot enough. Is there any other gases in small hand held bottles that will burn hot enough to heat the metal or any other tips on removing the muffler w/o damaging it? thanks in advance.

Re: removing stuck exhaust
Could you unbolt the exhaust at the cat and the front hanger and lower the entire exhaust? Might be a lot easier than trying to get two exhaust pipes to slide apart..

that crossed my mind but i don't think i have the room to slide it out unless i removed the entire axel/torsion arm/driveshaft. which i don't really want to do. thanks.

Re: removing stuck exhaust
I was able to swap my pump by unbolting the exhuast at the manifold and just letting it lye on the rear end. compare 4 nuts to something you currently cant do. And you'll save more time by unbolting the torque arm and driveshaft than struggling in a confined space.
