any issues with this setup
Just picked up flowmaster muffler with 3 inch input and dual 3 inch outs. I think the intermediate pipe on my car is 2 1/4 or 2 1/2.
Can I get the intermediate pipe to weld to the 3 inch input on the flowmaster?
Any issues with doing this or should I get a 3 inch intermediate pipe?
Thanks

So no one can tell me and 2 1/2 pipe will weld to a 3 inch inlet on a muffler without any adjustment? I have never done this before. Is this ok should I not do this?

You wont be able to weld a 2.5 inch pipe directly to a 3 inch muffler. You can a reducer at about any auto parts store though that tapers from 2.5 inch to 3 inch.

Using a reducer to go from 2.5" to 3" is perfectly fine. As far as performance gain from an all 3" intermediate pipe, I'm not sure on that. I know on my GF's camaro (stock TBI motor, not sure 305 or 350) a complete cat-back Flowmaster kit with 3" I-pipe had a much throateir sound than stock. She drives so slow that I cant tell you about performance though
