Magnaflow cat-back ..need help please.

hello all. I recently bought a magnaflow(16829) cat back system for my 1984 camaro. It looks great and I was very excited to install it. everything was going good until i got to hanging the muffler. My camaro doesn't have any hangers on the rear and I need to find a place to get 2. One for each side, left and right. I have googled exhaust hangers and been looking everywhere I can think, and haven't found them yet. I did find a place that sells 4th gen hangers and look like they may work. Here's a link below.
https://pontiworld.com.au/usgmsp/pro...oducts_id=5306
please let me know if you have installed the magnaflow cat on your third gen and know where I can acquire these exhaust hangers.

Check out Compnine at this link. Shows Hangers as #6 and #9 and a lot cheaper.

Re: Magnaflow cat-back ..need help please.

I just installed mine this past weekend. Sounds extra bassy. Not loud, just very deep. Love it. As for installation and hangers, try a NAPA or an Advance Auto. It depends what route you wanna take. You can go with a "build your own" style, or try to find stockish hangers for it. I just got back to school, so I cant take any pictures of what I did, but just try to mix and match. I'll see if I can come up with the part numbers for you tomorrow.

Re: Magnaflow cat-back ..need help please.

Since I'm back at school here, I probably wont be able to upload the pics by Friday, at the earliest. Since I installed mine on a GTA, I'm not sure if the hanger locations are going to be different at all. Through NAPA, I used EXH 35475 for the back driver's side. The rest were rigged up by using U Muffler clamps and bending the EXH 35103 hangers to what I needed. It's a confusing thing when it is in words, but when you see it, it's basic.

What year Camaro you got? That could be the difference. I have an 88 GTA, so they could have different hangers. You switch out the cat too? Cause you may need another hanger there too.

With the part numbers on NAPA. Just look up the number and click the not for specific button. No need for the EXH part. Here is the closest thing I could find for you for some install help. <INSTALLATION>....I did it a tad bit different, but theres an idea for ya.

You get it installed yet? I may be able to get you pictures either tomorrow night or the next day. Not positive though.

My magnaflow system...still needing hardware...pics!

wilkink, Hello again. The exhaust is just hanging on the car right now. My mechanic used coat hangers to hang it temporarily, so we could see what was needed for hardware etc. It is a little crooked at the moment, but I need to find the right hardware to install it. Here is a photo or two of the car as it sits. Can't even drive it right now.

Re: Magnaflow cat-back ..need help please.

I ordered the cat back for the 4th gen LS1 car. And I stole the hangers from an ls1 car. They slip right into our rear chassis and everything fit perfect. Not sure exactly what you need to do since you ordered a different catback than me...but you can always find a 4th gen set and toss em in. Gives you two more rubber hangers at the back.
