*sigh*, so sadly, my research into WA state laws regarding vehicle modification has lead me to the discovery of what is a rather BS law, but unfortunately, something I'll have to work around to avoid getting pulled over all the time in my Firebird when I start modding it, since It'll be for street use..

This is a section from WA RCW 46.37.390, regarding the matter...

(3) No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted by the engine of such vehicle above that emitted by the muffler originally installed on the vehicle, and it shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle not equipped as required by this subsection, or which has been amplified as prohibited by this subsection. A court may dismiss an infraction notice for a violation of this subsection if there is reasonable grounds to believe that the vehicle was not operated in violation of this subsection.

The law used to be a 95 db volume limit, but this change was made fairly recently (2006 or 2007 I believe). Basically, any exhaust setup that's louder than stock (which seems like a VERY vague generalization) is not street legal in cars 25 years old or newer here in WA.

What are my options, other than staying stock? I've heard that you can get silencer tips that keep the volume around stock levels on modded exhaust systems. Anyone have any experience with those? Believe me, I'd LOVE to make it loud, but unfortunately, the state says I can't, and cops are pretty strict where I live, so it's just asking for trouble :/
