Help about choosing a new system

Hey! Ive had my 91 camaro RS since about December now and it has a factory exhaust system. I want to have a new one put in, but i cant decide what system to install. i read some where that a cross member or something gets in the way of certain systems. Is this true? and any tips about what system to get? thanks.

Magnaflow flows better then flowmasters for performance. I wish i went with a magnaflow catback, i picked up a 3 inch flowmaster seeing i got it 3/4 off brand new.

i think 3'' magnaflow catback can be had beween 300-450ish if you search around.

Re: Help about choosing a new system

You didn't mention what kind of sound/volume you want. I have an Edelbrock cat-back on mine and it is mellow with a throaty hot-rod type sound when you stand on the loud pedal. Probably a good sound with headers. Hopefully I will be able to let y'all know for sure later this year!

the Edelbrock cat-back(RPM Muffler) with SLP headers sounds Fantastic..
car ran into the 10s and 11s with it..on the 383 (NO CATS)

Re: Help about choosing a new system

I would suggest going on youtube and doing simple searches on the different types of exhaust available on our thirdgens (ex.flowmaster on camaro). There are plenty of videos that demonstrate the sound of each system, including long tubes and shorties. You are pretty safe when going shorties, it's when you start getting into long tubes when the cross-member becomes an issue and custom fabrication is needed.
