Re: are you serious !!!!!!!!
I kinda understand, I think?? Of course it went back to sounding the same, you re-connected the exhaust. Removing the cat has a minimal, if any, effect on exhaust tone. Removing the muffler will only make you car more illegal to drive. Put the cat back on (hollow it out if you must) and put some glasspacks on it. That way you will be "legal" and avoid any fines or a possible impound if you get busted.

As far as the OP, i agree with stealth. Not only will you lose power with just open headers, your going to get pulled over. Gut the cat, put a glasspack on it and it will be loud. Am gonna go on a guess and say you have a stock exhaust. Get a 3inch, new muffler and it will be alot louder and perform better

Re: are you serious !!!!!!!!
IMO i just had exhuast put on yesterday because my car was TOO loud, for a time you will think the car sounds good but then after awhile it gets annoying and your neighbors and people around you hate you. i had exhaust all the way back to the converter, almost like what you have, i reliezed it was too loud one day after i started the car to let it warm up and i went inside to stay warm and i could hear it all the way inside my house..., trust me just stick with a full exhuast, its alot easier, people will like you alot more, and you wont get alot of tickets.

The forum uses English to communicate so it's probably a good idea to have accomplished this skill so that he can express himself in a way that everyone can understand. Otherwise less people are going to be able to help him.

it does help to use proper punctuation, there are some posts that you must read a few times to decode the message behind it ...

I'm pickin up what you're puttin down. I Just about had to change my under wear after installing headers and starting the car without the exhaust hooked up. Loud as all hell but sounded awesome. Just like a muscle car. I gutted my cat and put it back on and the car sounds a little more tin can like now. All of the sound I hear is coming from under the hood not from the exhaust pipes. My muffler is too quite for my taste. Its a Borla but I am switching it out for a flowmaster 80 series in a few weeks. Just waiting for the man to throw me some more cheddar on da first.

Re: are you serious !!!!!!!!
My previous post was a little hypocritical since I currently don't have the rear section of my exhaust back on LOL. Believe me, it gets annoying fast. At first its cool, then you want to listen to some music, so you have to crank it up just to hear it. Soon you become the guy cruising around in a loud car, blaring music.

Re: are you serious !!!!!!!!
I had a 455HO in a first gen with glass packs ending under the floor pan. Sounded awesome but got old real fast especially on the freeway. The downside was that I couldn't hear what my girl friend was saying but the upside was I couldn't hear what my girlfriend was saying!

Yeah, I can't understand what he's saying either and I'm not a big fan of coddling or reinforcing poor habits. The manner in which one expresses themselves does reflect on their intelligence (a widely accepted fact, not opinion) and by accepting something like that it brings down the level of the forum itself.
The forum uses English to communicate so it's probably a good idea to have accomplished this skill so that he can express himself in a way that everyone can understand. Otherwise less people are going to be able to help him.

To start, I did at least one thing the OP couldn't do, regardless of grammar. I asked a question.

Around my way "muff" is not found anywhere on a car and you certainly don't go cutting it.

...Joe, don't let anything said on these boards stop you posting or asking questions. It's like a large sometimes dysfunctional family. As was said on another thread some of us can sometimes be "a bunch of meanies" but it's all said and done with love! There's lots to learn here and you'll always get help.

Actually I was only having fun, but I only responded to you defending it, so how does that work? How about we all respond as we see fit and you let the OP speak for themselves? Or are you afraid that they're unable to?Können Sie dieses verstehen? Doesn' t sind viel sinnvoll, zu einem Forum zu kommen und Aufgabesachen zu beginnen die Mehrheit einen Leuten can' t verstehen.

Agreed.
I don't know what's up with the translator lately. I used to be able to talk to people for quite a while before they started to figure out I didn't know what I was doing.

Because ignoring the problem is always the best solution, right ?

Out of all the replys there were 2 people who complained about the grammer and had absolutely no info to give. They would rather bash the guy about grammer, again like i said, easier to close a post then to reply to something you dont understand.

Yes. The fork has been stuck. The goose is cooked and somewhere I think a fat lady is singing.
