single 3 in question
hey guys, ive got a 86 TA that i am putting a 383 in. was wondering if the hedman 1 5/8 shorties and single 3" with a flo pro single in dual out will be a huge restriction for this motor. the 383 has dart 215cc platinum iron eagles, comp cams xs290s, 10.1 compression, victor jr intake, holley 850 dp, full msd ignition, aeromotive a1000 pump 13202 reg, th400 3200 stall and a 4.10 gear in the rear. i have already portmatched the headers to the exhaust ports just wonderin if the 3in will have to much back pressure. did some searchin on here and found a few threads but no real answer. this will be just a street car i will drag on the weekends an hope to get into the 11's with . thanks

Re: single 3 in question
the headers will be a restriction. I went from edelbrocks 1 5/8 to dyno dons 1 3/4 and made a huge difference. I also have a 3 inch catback and a 3.5 inch cutout. When I was testing the difference between having the cutout open or closed, it made a half second difference. Just shows how restrictive the 3 inch exhaust is. So if I was you, I would get a 3 inch catback, some kind of exhaust cutout, and a pair of dyno dons headers with his y pipe. just my
