Need new header gaskets... suggestions??

I have the stock heads and edelbrock headers. I was wondering what were the best gaskets and what type to get. Part #'s would be great. I also need the donut type that fit in the collector. I don't want to order the wrong type of gasket that doesn't fit.... Thanks!

I kept blowing the paper gaskets on my hookers until I bought some Percy aluminum header gaskets. These work great! there are other brands also but the aluminum seals alot better than the other materials IMO

Do L98 heads have square or round ports?

i have gaskets with the carbon foil inserts in them, forgot who makes them, the paper gaskets just blow out, i've blown out the aluminum ones also, you need to invest in the locking header bolts, if the bolts come loose you'll blow out the gaskets

Fel-pro 1504 thru 150? is what you need. I think the 1504 is the stock size stuf.
also use 1" long header bolts (if you can, i think they fit fine) with reduced head size and put anti-seize on your bolts..

i've had good luck with the percy aluminum gaskets and the mr gasket copper ones. had a bad problem with blowing out the paper ones on my last setup, put in the coppers and never had the issue again.

Re: Need new header gaskets... suggestions??

percy's seal 4 good or mr gasket dead soft aluminum

the ticket is dead soft aluminum which is what percy's are as well

i've ripped out more junk fel-pros than i care to recall and now only use dead soft aluminum. It's worth the extra $10-$20 you pay.
