differant exost systems

What are the differences in exohst systems? What benefits do/or don't a y pipe give a built 350? And what makes putting true duels on a third gen so hard? I was looking at the under body and it appears to have enough room on both sides of the car to put duels from header back without running on only one side. On that note if a y pipe is beneficial can I just make a pipe to connect left and right pipes strait across? I've heard its just to equalize the exohst pressure or something like that is this true?

Re: differant exost systems

just run off manifold/headers 2.5" into single 3" y pipe....single 3" y and intermediate can handle up to 525 horse...math has been done a long time ago by many others...look at subarus....duals are a pain in the a"" and cost decent money or ground clearance unless your a mastermind like the guy with the c4 irs....if you want loud go slp loudmouth one or two....

Maybe the 3" y pipe can handle 525, but you are definitely going to see gains with a shorty or long tube header over stock manifolds. On a stock car it'll make a difference. On a modified car it'll make a bigger difference.
