Hooker 16823 cat-back to stock LG4 cat/y-pipe?

I'm about to order the Hooker 16823 cat-back system, and I want to know what would work best. I know that the 16820 is actually the correct part number for an LG4, but I am planning on upgrading the headers to Hooker 2055 and get a hi-flow cat and have the entire system at 3" soon.

However, in the mean time, I need to somehow fit the 16823 to my stock cat. Now I think I have a couple options:
  • Get a cat delete pipe (not against ANY law in Alberta, Canada). Which inlet diameter/length would I need? I know the output diameter needs to be 3". I would like to do this with no modifications to the Hooker I-pipe, as I will need the full length at 3" for the final system.
  • Get some sort of an adapter - outlet of the stock cat to 3" I-pipe (which size would I need?) - something like this? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/WLK-41973/
  • Replace the cat with a cheap one that would fit right on from the y-pipe to the I-pipe (not sure if this exact one would exist)

Any opinions on these options?

Now, I would love for this to be a driveway job (weld free), but if thats not possible I would be fine with asking a favour of a friend. And, as I wrote earlier, I would also need to have no irreparable mods to the Hooker I-pipe, because it will be staying on the car for the final system, and I would like to have that very clean looking.

Any help is great!
