ok i have a 91 5.0 vert i went to many shops trying to get true duels put on it they said "you cant on that car" i called bs i now have hooker long tubes and true 3" pipes that run to the rear axle i would like to know what kind of mufflers to get for the best sound its just alittle loud right now (cops what do they know) lol

FYI, those are Hedman headers not hookers. Get something flow through like a magnaflow or dynomax

The way your exhaust is now is exactly the way I am going to do mine. Except I am going to run dynomax bullet mufflers before the turndowns. Do a youtube search for them, but sound clips never seem to any muffler justice.

 

I don't know what to tell you, sounding good is subjective. Get what you like. You've already slowed the car down by putting that huge exhaust system on it so you can't do much else to hurt it.

 

well i plan on the rest running out the back and not keeping the dumps i like the looks of the pipes out back i just youtubed them they do sound good

i put that on there for the 406 that i have its just not ready to go in yet i just moved back to ohio and dont have a place to swap it right now ive had the 406 in a 79 z28 and a 77 c10 it likes to breathe the car has a 305tbi right now its gonna be slow nomatter what i just want it so sound good till i pull it out

 

Dynomax and magnaflow have been proven HP makers over flowmasters and the like, that's why I suggest them.

 

i know i like the sound of flows but i went to UTI and we had them out on the dyno and they did rob the most power im thinking about the magnaflow i know they sound good on other cars i mean i guess if i dont like them i can always buy something else untill i find what i like

 

I was about to say 3" true dual pipes on tbi305 that would be one sloppy mess.I had true dual 2 1/4 glasspacks on my LT1 didnt like them lost low end and got bad mpg im now happy with thrush welds.And to be honest the glasspacks didnt sound as near as good as the welds.I always liked glasspacks but not right on my car.

 

I love the sound of my Pypes M80s- if they would only stay on- I've torn them off 2x in the last week .

They have a really nice sound at part/WOT, and aren't too loud cruising, when they aren't just hanging.

 

yeah i just wanted to do it to the 305 cuz i was told i couldnt im not the happest with my set up but its not bad for my first try im hopping to have the 305 out and the 406 in when its warm again im in ohio so it just rains
