question about Hooker 2055 headers

Have done tons of research online (including summit racing) and looking through lots of threads on here, but still not totally sure:
Will Hooker 2055s fit on a 1992 firebird with a 305 TBI?
According to at least Summit Racing and Amazon: no
From what I'm getting from the posts on here: yes?

Just want to make sure it'll fit, since they seem to be the way to go instead of 2460's... based on recommendations I've read and the fact that there is no 3" y-pipe sold for the 2460's (and I want 3" all the way back).

If the 2055's do fit, did anyone find any complications when installing (i.e: such as anything in the way, spark plug wires, etc.)?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: question about Hooker 2055 headers

Thread dedicated to the 2055's. I have an 89 TBI with them. No problems.

The main issue you'll have, is dual cats and if you have an emissions test, visual or otherwise. Those headers and Y pipe weren't made for a dual cat set up and will fail an emissions visual if you take one of the cats out ot make it work.

Re: question about Hooker 2055 headers

So, since I have only a single cat I shouldn't have any problems with emissions (whether visual or exhaust gas contents)?

As long as the air tubes are hooked up, no.

Re: question about Hooker 2055 headers

do make sure to pick up some 90° angled spark plug wires though. Straight spark plug wires will not fit with headers.

Re: question about Hooker 2055 headers

What 90 deg. angled spark plug wires and spark plugs did you get, specifically? Do you have Hooker 2055's? I'm having a hard time finding something online that will definitely work.

Re: question about Hooker 2055 headers

I picked up these myself:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MSD-5562/

I don´t have Hookers 2055´s but 2460´s instead.

Pretty much the same thing though. The spark plugs in the swirl port heads protrude in a 90° angle from the head. You´ll have the same issue with any kind of header you want to put on that engine.

Thanks! Any recommended spark plugs to go with those wires?
