Exhaust Question
I'm about to put new exhaust on my 86 firebird (hedman header headers and y pipe all 3 inch) and I was just wondering if anyone had this exhaust kit, and if so could they post a video.

Re: Exhaust Question
Here's a sound clip of my car when it had the Aerochamber catback. Headers and magnaflow cat. With a 3" y-pipe you'll want part number 16823.

It's a nice sounding exhaust.

Re: Exhaust Question
for that price i'd take it to an exhaust shop and have them fab it up for you, shouldn't run you any more than $250 installed.

Re: Exhaust Question
Exhaust shops where I live do crappy work and want way to much for the little work they do, plus I want to be able to unbolt it.

Re: Exhaust Question
Thats 4 pipes cumming out the rear.
Maybe some one can show this setup installed from the rear so there is a better idea as to how that's going to look.
I have never seen that tip configuration on a Third Gen..(I understand the one in the photo is stainless but its just to see it assembled)

Re: Exhaust Question
I have that exhaust, except, the L69 version of it (different flange at the front, otherwise the same); no videos of it though.
Sounds fine. Fits great.
I didn't use those tips either. Too gaudy and high-school spank-off-ish for me. I got a pr of stainless turndowns that are virtually completely hidden, and what little can be seen, looks like stock.
I will NEVER EVER do a "custom" exhaust again, as long as I can buy a WELL ENGNIEERED and FACTORY MADE system to fit whatever application I happen to be working on at the moment. "Custom" is fine when necessary; but never as all-around "good", especially with regards to the FIT, as factory-built.
