Donut style flange SLP uses

Where can I get a pair of these 2.5" flanges that take the felpro double bevel gasket?

I thought my ball flanges would fit the SLP's but they don't, and I need to finish making this y-pipe.

Aside from ordering a front y-pipe for one of those things and paying out the ****, do you have any idea where I could get two flanges?

Re: Donut style flange SLP uses

I wonder if something like this would work:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hedman-Heade...ht_1469wt_1163

If I welded a small stub in it to center the donut gasket??

The SLP headers don't actually have the stub on the header side, but on the y-pipe side. I wonder if just two bell ends would be fine with a gasket?

You might get it to work.

However you'd probably be a lot happier in the end if you buy two Vband sets and weld them on instead...

I was almost there, but I feel if I modify the headers, and decide to unload them in the future I'll never be able to sell them.

Fbody owners are weird. IF you modify a part, even for the better, it's "junk".

I wish I knew that before I ordered these reducers from summit.

If they don't work, or just in general, what would you like $$ to make a pair that would fit the SLP collectors and be 2.5" ID (not od) ?

Re: Donut style flange SLP uses

OK!

So I used hedman # HED-21123 reducers which are around $20.

I Welded a 2 1/2" pipe inside the opening to keep the donut gasket centered like SLP did. Works like a charm.

The donut gasket I used is Felpro # 9587, which is 2 1/2" ID 3" OD, twin bevel.

For the bolt flanges I bought some on ebay, part # SF008. (forget the mfg) which worked out great.

I'll be happy to take pics this weekend. I just made the reducers up last night, I've got a J bend and a 45 which should be enough to make the pipe up, along with a flowmaster 2.5 to 3" Y collector. Once I have it all welded up I'll snap a few pictures.

Re: Donut style flange SLP uses

Hurricanes suck.

Anyhow, back to the car. I got a chance tonight to put a bunch of bends together with a flowmaster Y collector. This is just tack welded, but you get the idea. I'll weld it up in the next couple of days then put an 02 bung in the Y for the wideband.

2 1/2" pipes, into 3" merge.

I'm not using a thirdgen oil pan on my 400 block so I had to drop the crossover pipe down more than usual. It's about an inch below the k-member. Still should have more clearance than the long tubes did.
