Re: will these headers fit?
Im pretty sure i have an exhaust leak. I put a quirt of oil into each cylinder and smoke comes up from the headers on both sides. and i hear a tapping. I put new gaskets and i put the bolts as tight as possible and still an exhaust leak? New headers? or messed up heads?

Re: will these headers fit?
Hookers are better than Ebay headers any day. You can get a set of cool looking hookers; that chrome on those ebay's more than likely won't hold up and you'll be regretting your purchase. Don't just replace the headers before diagnosing, though. You said it sounds like an exhaust leak? It couldn't hurt to check the rest of the exhaust too..You can even have a friend put his hands over your tailpipes on a cold start up and you can check to see where the exhaust leak is coming from.

I cut off the rest of the exhaust to to make sure it was my headers. Previous fools welded headers to pipes -_- MY headers r leaking but not sure if its my heads or headers...

Re: will these headers fit?
Im debating on using these Ebay headers. People are using same brand on lsx engines. Should i trust them and go for them? and if they give up after a year or so then lesson learned. but first i need to figure out exactly what my problem is. My current headers are flowtech. form oreillys

Re: will these headers fit?
My advice is don't throw money at your motor before diagnosing. Why did you cut the exhaust off to diagnose an exhaust leak? There is so much noise that comes from just running headers that it is next to impossible to pin point if you actually have an exhaust leak or not, let alone from where. If you think that your leak was coming from your headers then start diagnosing with the little things first. What kind of gaskets did you use? If you used the paper ones, theres a problem. What kind of bolts did you use? Also, did you use lock washers or any kind of sealer on the bolts?

Re: will these headers fit?

What do you mean metal all the way to paper? Were the bolts you used specific to shorty style headers?

Re: will these headers fit?
my current headers. the pipe sticks out from the flange about a 1/8 of an inch. Is that normal? I cant get the oval ports from th eheaders to seal with the ports on the head. now if it were a flat flange then maybe it would seal perfect.

Re: will these headers fit?
Sorry man, but your posts are all over the place and kind of hard to follow. You want to use Percey's crush aluminum gaskets, or the equivilent. You also want to make sure you use the correct bolts for your headers. If you ahve the money, based on what sounds like a hack job done by the previous owner, I'd just get new headers. I personally like the hooker 2055's, but that's because I needed emissions when I got them. Alot of people here like Dyno Don's. Still more people like headman. You didn't mention it anywhere, so if you run an auto, it's a complete bitch to do long tubes, so get shorties.
