90-92 have no air injection tubes

in exhaust manifolds ?

I knew in 90 they went to SD....but I didn't realize they
got rid of the air injection ?

90 up has a few improvements like 91-up spoiler and cooler

tail lights................cup holders and etc but that ugly *** air bag

steering wheel is well ugly.

Found a low mileage 90 with an unknowledgable seller I may get cheap. So I was curious about the air injection missing.

The previous owner put a ZZ-9 cam in it which is a damn good one but used the stock heads and intake.

We all know thats sounds wrong.

Also computer laying in passenger floor board which is disconcirting
to anyone who has chased computer gremlins.

Excellent in and out but its not running and I think its bad gas.

Get this the guy cut a hole in the kick panel to run wires for the stereo............ lol What an idiot.............

Kinda worries me what else the moron has done.................

That is not correct. It should still have the AIR injection tubes.

Re: 90-92 have no air injection tubes

Thought that was wrong.

So the guy stuck in a ZZ9 cam, did a valve job and installed exhaust manifolds from another vehicle.

Weird..........way to go about an upgrade.

That cam needs some help from better heads and intake.

If the cam is even actually in it to begin with..................

I think it depends on where the car was built and the emission requirements at that time! California for example would have everything you could think of!

Most likely the manifolds are the stock manifolds & simply have the A.I.R. tubes removed & threaded plugs put in their place. I'm not aware of any other manifolds from any other car that will interchange into a 3rd gen F-body.

Regardless of where it was built or originally sold, they all had the same AIR tubes. GM isn't going to spend the money to have different manifolds for CA cars.

Actually no I looked for plugs in the manifolds and there are other exhaust manifolds that will bolt up.

Re: 90-92 have no air injection tubes

I've been wondering why no one seems to get the Corvette tubular exhaust manifolds and use them on a Camaro.

The Corvette manifolds seem better than the stock ones and less work than installing headers?

Because they don't fit the car.

Not gonna say your wrong but that is what this guy is claiming to have done.

I remember seeing a car mag article showing the interchangable
part numbers of exhaust manifolds.

These manifolds are smooth...no holes.

Will try to find out more on this, as I might be interested in this for another Firebird.
