QUESTIONS ON HEADERS

ok so basically i bought a whole exhaust sytems for my 91 z28 with a tpi 350, my brother says i will have to get my car tuned after i put my headers on......please tell me my brother is wrong and if theres a way around it....plus in the long run i want to remove all of the emission stuff to clean up the engine bay so i dont know if that plays into it

To my knowledge No, you dont need to get it tuned, but it will never hurt..Never got my car tuned after I installed my headers.

well i wont say you have to get your car tuned after that, but i highly recommend it so you get all you can out of your setup. once you mod one thing, then something else needs modded in sequence to the previous mod, then it snowballs. but for me (have had it dyno tuned) when i had just the 305 tpi in my 86, and i picked up quiet a bit of power after a simple A/F ratio tune. and i was driving previously with full exhaust, cold air, and ported plenum. porting the plenum made a huge differance of all the little things i did to the 305....just throwing that out there. if you change your hardware, you must change your software. and you have MAP controlled car which appearantly is less acceptable/forgiving of mods than a MAF car like mine.
