1984 Trans Am, Hooker 2055's, No O2 sensors...Problem?

OK,
I have a 1984 Trans Am with the stock Carb. I have in my possession a beautiful set of ceramic coated brand spanking new Hooker 2055's-1HKR with the Y pipe.

Having looked up parts availability to ENSURE that there will be no problem adding these headers to my L69/Q-jet stock combo I noticed that the Hooker 2460 comes up as a replacement. I did some research and it appears the major difference is that the 2460's have a place for a O2 sensor while the 2055's do not.

So, can I still run these 2055's without the O2 sensors (that sounds like a problem, actually since I think it will throw codes around the computer like the Hulk on a spaz attack.)?

You can add a 02 sensor bung in the Y pipe to satisfy the ECU.......

2055's came with or without the 02 sensor bung, they were made to order as when you ordered them. Looks like you got a set without. YOU can have a bung welded on, any exhaust shop should be able to do it.

The 2460's aren't built as well as the 2055's other than the fact they are long tubes I wouldn't necessarily get them. You can probably sell those Hooker's here on the web site and get a set that have the 02 bung on them. Now, the problem you may have if you need emissions and run dual exhaust, is that the shop may not put dual cats on it. Also, the single 3" pipe only flows about 5 cfm less than true dual 2.5" so you don't lose much, nothing noticeable

Well what the heck ...if they can put the o2 bungs on I'll keep them. Thanks!
