I NEED HELP!! What exhaust should i do?
I have a 1985 Trans Am and i have an older 350 chevy with headers. It is not Fuel Injected. Need help with getting the best sounding exhaust for my car. Anyone who has input please feel free to comment! wanting a deep sound not really wanting the snappy sound.

true dual straight pipes with classic chambered powerstick mufflers. It will be loud-very loud depending if you have cats. These mufflers have a unique and IMO, awesome sound.

True duals, definitely. You can find sound clips of powersticks on youtube.
I have true 2.5" duals with thrush turbo welded mufflers and enjoy the sound, be aware that clearance needs to be taken into account. But it's still totally driveable, just gotta watch out for high speed bumps/etc.

Thank you. Does that give it a deep sound or more of a snap?
And where is the clearance an issue with that? At the back behind the rear axle?

It gives a deep sound (my set up) but it definitley sounds like muscle, not truckish, and it's pretty loud (typically can make people jump upon starting, haha).
Here's some pics, the clearance issue is mostly where it goes under the tranny crossmember (keep in mind that in these pics it's on ramps, so the back end is lower than it normally would be)
My exhaust dumps just before the rear axle. If i swap to power sticks I'll be able to wrap it over the axle, but right now it's just too tight.
*EDIT* in the second picture I'm no longer on ramps, so that is how much clearance I have

And sound like this:
They are a glorified straight pipe basically.
Mine look like regular mufflers(as can be seen in the pic), but sound like this:

Unless you want to do a lot of fabrication and avoid speed bumps, just get a single 3.5".
I got a single 4" and have lots of clearance.

you can run 2.5in true duals in the stock exhaust route and have no clearance issues. That is definitely the way to go. The trush and powersticks sound way different. The poweresticks can be bought only at classic chambered's website (about $70 a piece plus shipping). And the rest of the piping would be from the exhaust shop. And if you are running it out the back (I recommend this) then you'll need some exhaust tips(I got my 2 tips, which are JONES, from summit racing for about $35). Ask around for a good shop in your area.
