Header wrap

I am thinking about using heat wrap on my Edelbrock headers does anyone have
any thoughts or experience of doing this?
I have removed the air tubes from both manifolds and the heat riser for the air filter from the
left manifold.

I've checked the price to get them ceramic coated and it's $1388

My headers are wrapped on my car. It Definitely reduced engine bay temp by id say 10-15F or so, Just dont expect it to be ANYTHING like ceramic coating. Take your time and grab some thin metal wiring to help hold it on the actual header ( as i dont see any other way to actually keep it on the headers itself)

Are they still very hot to the touch?

You can touch them, quickly but still VERY hot. If your looking for the "cool to the touch" after a 15min cool down you need to go with ceramic coating. Header wrap only helps with engine bay temp.

The wrap will retain heat inside the headers, so they'll erode from the inside out faster.

my headers were wrapped when I bought the car. I can touch the wrap and not burn myself. seems to work great for my car.

That's outrageous. That's 4 times what it REALLY costs. Don't let that fantasy stand in your way of doing the right thing for yourself.

Don't use header warp; it's destructive, ineffective, and does nothing but cause problems.

When I was in Coventry the other day, seems like I saw a coating place; but I could be wrong. Might have just been powder coating.

Meanwhile, here's what it REALLY costs. http://www.camcoat.u-net.com/Exhtprices2002.htm About a quarter of that number you made up. There's plenty of others of course; that's just the first one I found that posts their prices. Which are actually pretty close to the same as in the US.
